Alternative Fuel Transportation Grant Program (NOFA 08-03)

The Ohio Department of Development’s Ohio Energy Office (ODOD/OEO) is soliciting applications from retail businesses for the purchase and installation of alternative fuel refueling facilities. The Alternative Fuel Transportation (AFT) Grant Program is authorized pursuant to Section 122.075 of the Ohio Revised Code. This Notice of Funds Available (NOFA) is intended to commit the balance of funds available for FY 2008.

Below is information on how to run conventionally fueled vehicles efficiently, where to buy cleaner fuels, what alternatives to conventionally fueled vehicles exist, and where to get more information.

Fuel Efficiency Clean Fuels and Fleets

Refueling Locations in Ohio

Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs)
AFVs currently offered, including cars and light trucks, buses and heavy-duty trucks; maintenance, industry contacts, policies, incentives and more

Cars and Light Trucks (including hybrid electric vehicles)

Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicles: buses, heavy-duty trucks

Tools for Fleets

  • Clean Cities tools for fleet operators
  • US EPA program, Smartway, is partnering with several lenders to make loans available to small trucking companies to help pay for technologies that will save fuel and money while reducing pollution. Smartway launched these loans for the trucking industry in November 2006.
