Technology and Research

Ohio boasts a long and proud heritage in innovation, manufacturing and technological research.  The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) is focused on fostering an entrepreneurial climate by building the state’s commercialization infrastructure to capitalize on Ohio-based research and advancing the global competitive position of manufacturing and technology-based Ohio businesses.  Through technology-based economic development programs including the Third Frontier Project and Edison Centers, the ODOD provides a number or resources and services for the biomedical, fuel cell and other targeted technology-based industries.

Additionally, the ODOD’s Office of Strategic Research provides data and analysis on the Economic, Industrial and Demographic trends of the state of Ohio, its businesses and its people.
